From a young age, Jessica’s life has almost always been centered around water and the life that teems within it. After graduating from the University of New Haven with a degree in Marine Biology, she completed an internship at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, Connecticut, where she spawned a fascination and love for all-things-sharks.
Today, Jessica has expanded her area of expertise to four-legged friends, as she works with AVS training our new customer service staff members.
When not at AVS (or out feeding nurse sharks), you can find Jessica in the great outdoors kayaking, scuba diving, rock climbing or hiking with her Lhasalier, Jameson.

As a young girl, Laura should have known that she was destined for a career with animals just by the fact that she had a wild boar for a pet. Nevertheless, her education path led her to a degree in Political Science from Santa Barbara City College before she finally succumbed to her calling.
Since then she has been dedicated to the care of animals and the environment. Laura has worked with many local non-profits, including Save the Mermaids, where she teaches at-risk youth about plastic pollution and ocean advocacy. Today, through her continued efforts, she has been recognized as an animal care specialist for the feeding and well-being of birds, aquatics, and small animals.
Laura lives in Santa Barbara with 3 housemates, a tank full of fish, a bunny named Bella Luna, and 3 Americana Chickens: Salt, Pepper, and Paprika.
